My 23rd birthday is tomorrow and since my mom is coming to town today Michael took me out for an early birthday dinner on Saturday. Now that we're so close to downtown we've been wanting to try so many new places so we decided to go to Pack's Tavern. Y'all...this place was amazing. For starters right beside the restaurant is pack's square where they were having a big bluegrass concert and tons of people came out to listen which made the atmosphere really fun, not to mention the weather was perfect outside. There was about a 45 minute wait so we grabbed some seats at the bar and ordered the best whiskey sours I have ever had, hands down. I really didn't even mind the way but the food was so good and I would recommend this place to anyone visiting Asheville in a heartbeat. After dinner we decided to walk around downtown and ended up at this place called The Vault, I wouldn't really consider it a bar but more of a lounge type of place. I ordered another whiskey sour which sadly was not that good and Michael got a beer. What made this place so cool is that it used to be an old bank so they turned the original vault into this really chill hangout room with the most comfortable couches ever, Michael and I were the only ones in the vault room so it was nice to just relax and talk. It's so fun being in a new city and getting to explore. I told Michael I can't wait to actually feel like a local in Asheville, it's such a cool place to live. I think everyone at some point should really take the type to step out of their hometown or comfort zone and experience a new place.
On Sunday Michael went kayaking so Pax and I took the day to get laundry and cleaning done and catch up on HGTV which was a pretty good day in my book. Overall it was a pretty good weekend, but I'm quite excited for the 3 day weekend coming up!
Enjoy your Monday, friends!
