Tuesday night my mom and friend Vanessa came up so we could go see Blues Traveler downtown at The Orange Peel and it was awesome. Vanessa got to know John Popper (the lead singer) through twitter a few years ago and has stayed friends with him since so she got us some tickets and backstage passes. I'll be honest, I only knew two songs of theirs before the show but my mom and I found a older CD of theirs at a thrift store and I kept it playing in my car and really enjoyed their music.
Once the got to my apartment it was absolutely POURING down rain, as it had been all day. We were under a tornado warning and advisory all day, convenient right? We headed downtown for $2 tacos at Mamacitas which thankfully was right up from the venue and we found parking right across from it. After running in the rain we got dinner then headed down to the venue. The opener came on about 8:15ish so we went downstairs for drinks and to hang out for a bit before the show started. I wasn't very impressed with the opener who was a local band from Asheville so I couldn't wait for blues traveler. We got upstairs just in time to grab a drink and get a got spot. Once the band came out their energy was awesome, and we really had a good time watching them. The show lasted about 2 hours and then afterwards we headed back stage where we got to sit and hang out with John and the drummer Brendan which was awesome. They were both extremely friendly and welcoming so it was a lot of fun hanging out with them. They invited us to go play pool with them at a restaurant downtown but we had to get back home because I had to be at work early for out final deadline yesterday.
It was such an awesome night and I had so much fun with my mom and Vanessa. I know everyone enjoyed the show so I would love to see them again sometime. If you ever get the chance definitely go see them!

Oh, and just for fun. Liquid Logic launched their new website and posted pictures of the factory. Michael takes Pax to work everyday so they posted the cutest picture of her and I love it. In the background is Michael on his skateboard and it ended up being the perfect picture.
